Some women want diamonds and pearls...

but all I want is this.

or this...

*Since I was little, I've adored all things vintage. I don't know, I just can't shake it. And the neatest thing about vintage stuff- is that it can be incorporated so easily all design arenas- be it modern, classical, traditional... *sigh* Just look at 'em. When we started looking at houses, there were 'priorities' that we decided on that we would not budge on. One thing is certain: The kitchen must be *special* and it must allow me to enjoy one of my favorite hobbies with gusto (and extra cabinet space for my cooking treasures). I told him that I did NOT want a range style stove/oven. However, if there our perfect home had a range... he must promise to let me pick the range of MY CHOOSING. *All the while, this bebe was glittering in my minds eye.

So. Now, I'm hunting for my range. Being the savvy shopper I am... and addicted to Internet research- I thought I had made my mind up... until I saw this bad boy.

Holy Cow. It takes my breath away. It's a Blue Star range... and it's the real deal. I've always ALWAYS wanted a professional stove/oven! AND it comes in over 190 colors. *sigh* You want to hear about it's Super Nova BTU's? <...in a champagne supernova in the sky ...> Yeah, I know your singing in your head right now. I am too. Seriously. This sucker is bad to the bone.

I wonder what my dream boat, Alton Brown, would say? If he knew me... I think he would get me. He would know just what to do... my gut instinct says that he would say, "Lindsey, you beautiful and incredible cook you, I believe that the Blue Star is the perfect combination of style and rock star cooking. Go for the Blue Star. And Lindsey? I want you to accompany me... as my personal assistant wherever I go." *blush* Oh, Alton. Thank you. I knew it! Believe me when I say- I'm your biggest fan. Now, how 'bout a ride on your motorcycle?

Don't worry, Marcus feels little threat there. Although, I'd love him forever if he took me to Hotlanta to see Alton in August... Wait! How did this conversation get away from my dream oven?

I hope Marcus doesn't break his promise. He's never broken one yet....

Happy Friday, yall!
Peace, xo.

You need that range almost as bad(or worse) than the flash. For real yo! And what is up with your love for Alton? You are frightend by Jim Carey but Alton you can handle? One complex and delicate creature you are.

Oh Sugarbutt, you've KNOWN that I adore all.things.Alton! He's brilliant, funny, cheesy, and balding- the *magical combo* for me. I know people don't get it... no more than my infatuation with Lyle Lovett. Marcus says that it all 'makes him look bad.' Maybe it's the *sheer genius* that attracts me. I'm a creature all right! xo

So last night, after Zachary's graduation, I was talking to my friend Christie from work. She and her husband just built a house in Audubon Lakes. They have a precious little boy named Ryan who will be 2 in October (he could make a good buddy for your precious man!!), and you should meet her when y'all move in because she's pretty cool. She wanted me to ask what street your house is on, because she said there were about 5 for sale on her street! : )

Hi Lindsey - My name is Amber and I am friend of Janee's! I was reading your blog and also wanted to mention incase Janee forgot, she and I have a mutual friend, named Casey, who also lives in Audobon Lakes. She has a son who is almost 2! Hopefully this may help you feel more "at home" in LA knowing that you have some potential friendly neighbors. :o)
